have not posted in many weeks, so am posting this - is still in the
doodling pencil stage, but the composition is gelling in my mind, and
soon will begin sketching sections to solidify my mental image... what
is it? is a large imagined Asian landscape showing a waterfall at the
fore end of a lake, almost at eye level there, with far distant view of
the back end of the lake... on each side of the falls, there are homes
with extended gardens that cantilever down the sides of the sloping
rock, sort of like the rice paddies on hills, then project out into the
space, connected to each other, a series of Japanese style gardens that
circle around the falls, connected at the foreground right the other
side of the chasm, with an extension to the fore left, showing an
apartment and balcony ledge, on which resides a resting figure that is
overlooking the gardens... and am figuring will probably be a 40"x60"
sized work... in a way, this is a further exploring of composing along
the lines of "Moon and Tea", tho the composing is all in my mind and has
been slowly coming into focus so can begin the sketches - in other
words, the mental view is there, but the dickens has been in the
details... so stay tuned, more will be coming...
