Am still in the process of sketching out the small figures needed for the second half of the diptych...  as soon as the four are down and looking right, then will begin laying out the rock and habitat, and fill in the rest of the background - and begin inking...

 Moving along, got the middle section down, and close-ups of each side to show the indication of human habitation and the distant vegetation...  still prussian blue , but with several drops of white in with it, as well as added water...

Beginning the first section of the first of the receding ridges... prussian blue somewhat diluted [but not enough, as the base of the rock pillar looks as if melded into the receding ridge instead of being properly thrust out in front of it - but, for now, will hold on whether to lighten it, at least until the rest of the ridge is done - or enhance the shaded part of the rock pillar to make it stand out more]...

 Further work on the glazing of colors on the rock pillar grisaille, using a crow quill nib and sap green, emerald green, light green, process yellow and antelope brown on the tree and vegetation...  and red earth on the rock...

The grisaille of the rock pillar is done, and am now on the layering of colors, beginning with the vegetation...
