and yes, those marks on lower right are bloops - lid of bottle slipped out of my hand and bounced there - but no worries, as can turn into cane leaves, etc. as to the right of it will be the bridge between the shores...

Further composing thoughts...

I came upon another artist work, a turn of the century Japanese artist's wonderful night scene, seen below, and thought of how I might extend the right side of it [and moving the moon to this new section] into a new work inspired by this work, with a seated nude facing the moon, perhaps with an early coffee - which would be the theme/title... in pen and colored inks of course... so this may well be the next work seen here , and soon, as only need do the sky and rocks to be done with the color pencil work... something different, yes, but much like some of my works, and a nice bit of challenge for me...

new projects...

some may wonder at the lack of material here these past several days... am presently getting involved in a color pencil work, and with another pen and acrylic ink cliff city scape, which needs be sketched out before deciding whether to go with a 20"x40" size or another 36"x78"... further, have discovered Prismacolor has revived Deco Pink, so can at long last, for those who know of my "Bearly There" painting, be able to do the companion piece that would place the two across the doorway from each other - but that is another color pencil work, neither of which will be covered in this blog but in my Visioneer Windows blog... as soon as the sketch for "Morning Coffee" is worked out, will post here...

on to the next........

at the moment, am working out ideas for two smaller works while letting the large one fully dry before adding the sky in and matte coating to a non-glare photo op...  the first is intended to deal with a lizard, probably another iguana, and a sparrow like bird - the one getting a bug from the other, and theme/titled "Out Reach"...  the other is probably going to be a colored pencil work, with a mouse climbing a hanging ikebana on a cracked wall, and theme/titles "Footholds"... fun pieces with less stress for a change...

"Metatropolis" - 38

second layer showed crease in canvas, so did a third layer mixing the blue with white - which revealed had forgotten to ink in the distant rock on the right side... which then was inked, and when dry will be colored...
