Japanese Castle

Sorry I have not been around for awhile...  but I have working on this Japanese Castle.

Long time ago in a land far, far away,  my Husband went to Japan.  While there, took some photos of the majestic Castles.
Back when I lived in NW Oregon, I decided to give this a try. However, the move interrupted my endeavors.
Had the background... basics of a background started but nothing else. It still needs work, but will wait until I Ink in the castle.

That tiny bit of ink work above, took an hour. Detail is hard to see at this scale but in future WIP's, I will add a close up of the detail.

The sky has been done in a base color and is not complete.
The Japanese castle will be in Pen and Ink and at a later date, will add a slight amount of watercolor pencil wash.

This is the most technical painting/drawing I have done for awhile. Last one was my cat Mia in Urban Jungle.

Ever so slowly working on the Japanese Castle.  The shear amount of detail this piece will have, is mind boggling even to me.

Sunshine is streaming through the window. Have been a bit torn about working on this and wanting to be outside.
So I decided to work on the Castle first... then go outside.

Continuing with the Pen and Ink work, about half way done with that part.
Once all the inking is finished, will add more highlights and a soft color to the main part of the Castle.

I am using my favorite Hot Press paper, Sakura
and Copic pens. Sizes are 1, 0.5 and 0.3.

Sorry about the Copyright marks on the WIP's, sadly, the theft of my Art has been rampant.
