Vision thoughts...

I had thought, if it is not too cryptic, that the following might be considered as an opening slogan of sorts - from Tennyson's "Ulysses" -

Come, my friends,
'Tis not too late to seek a newer world.
Push off, and sitting well in order smite
The sounding furrows; for my purpose holds
To sail beyond the sunset, and the baths
Of all the western stars, until I die.

It has been four years since this blog was begun, and it has been an interesting venture...

Closing in on the ledge - in another couple of days, will be done with it and can get on to the rock pillar behind.........

Viewing the full board and seeing the placement of the tree and ledge...  that is antelope brown for the tree interior, and red earth for the ledge...

The two colors are lemon yellow and raw sienna.....

having finished the grisaille of the foreground, am now in the process of glazing colors over it before proceeding further...  for the leaves, am using sap green, emerald green, light green, and lemon yellow...  am at present using antelope brown on the wood, and anticipate at least two more colors glazed  in addition...

and yes, am using a crow quill nib...

New project - Conquest of Loneliness

 This is the original "Curse of Loneliness", a 4'x8' mural on primed canvas done with acrylic paint.....

This is the beginning of a sequel - "Conquest of Loneliness", a diptych of two 30"x40" acid-free foamboards, and being done with FW Acrylic inks, mostly with crow quill nibs...  the grisaille is in Prussian blue...
