Finally found some time to work on this painting! Have started on the toy she is laying next to, adding more and more layers of color wash. Adding more and more detail to her face and body. The close up below, is pretty close to the color she will be when finished.

Tabby on Sofa Pen and Ink and Wash in Progress
Sorry I haven't been around much. But I wanted to show you all my latest pen and ink with watercolor pencil wash of a Tabby Cat on the Sofa. This one is taking me a long time for the sheer about of Ink detail in it. Only about 3/4's of the way done.

wow - this is very well done work!!
ReplyDeleteand I should add your sofa florals are fantastic - yes indeed, makes your title a good one!
ReplyDeleteThank you Robert! Still have a bit more work to do on it but getting there.
ReplyDeleteOnly problem with Pen and Ink is the fine detail takes a whole lot of time! VBG
well, one could always use bigger nibs [but I like the detail, however long it takes to get it all down]...
ReplyDeleteThis one has been pretty much done with my Copic .03 and a little of the darker areas, with the Sakura.05. Only way to get the fine detail I like.
ReplyDeleteThough is one reason I don't do any work larger than 14" by 20".
Would take me two years to do a piece double that size!!
Think that is why I like pen and ink so much, the level of detail one can attain.
